Standard configuration of the digital height rod is to the right of the display console, but if desired height rod placement can be on the LEFT SIDE of the display console when ordered as an MX877L. The 'active' handrail, which is designed into the platform and not added on, can be grasped during weighing, without affecting the weight reading.
